SHINGLES FOR A LOW SLOPE ROOF
If you have a roof pitch of 2/12 or higher, it can be warrantied for some high wind shingles. It is, however, not recommended to shingle a roof with a pitch lower than 2/12. Low slop tar and gravel roofs tend to be 2/12 or less, so if you are at 2/12, we can convert you to a shingle roof. Shingles can be an excellent option for a low slope roof application because of is economic benefits. The price is reasonable, and the shingle’s high wind rating will ensure durability. Any roof with a pitch of 3/12 or less will require 2 layers of synthetic paper or a full ice/water membrane underneath the shingles to ensure your roof is waterproofed and protected.
